As the school application process begins, it is easy to feel overwhelmed, anxious and lacking the information you really need! The parent WhatsApp groups are full of highly opinionated voices and it is easy to feel like you simply have to follow the crowd - even if, you know you really don't want to be so passive. In these 1:1 sessions (for you and members of your family) we follow the structure of my webinar to ensure you leave with all of the information you need: - UNDERSTAND: The realities of school 'choice'; what research says about what contributes most to academic success; the different types of school in the system and the pros and cons of each. - INVESTIGATE: How to find data about schools and how to use this information to inform your choice. We will look at Ofsted reports, exam data and 'hidden' data most parents don't find! - EXPLORE: An overview of the debates in education and how to use these during school visits to get a good understanding of the 'day-to-day life' of the school. However, as it is just us, we can tailor the content to suit your specific context and focus only on what is relevant to you. There will be plenty of time for questions and discussion in each one-hour session. Please note, book the first session via my site and then we can arrange dates and times for further sessions.
